I THE ARRIVAL

All humans from the world died. But after death, they found themselves in a place that felt surreal and different—a realm smaller than the world they knew, bound by a 10,000 block radius.

In this Afterlife, humans felt more powerful, filled with an ethereal essence. They wandered and discovered that this world offered wonders beyond imagination.

But there was a mysterious entity lurking in the shadows: The Void. Whispers spread of a being offering power in exchange for souls.

II THE CORRUPTION

A divine being appeared, giving the humans a book with a warning: "Beware the Void." But blinded by power, many chose to trade their essence for strength.

With each death—whether accidental, intentional, or in battle—their soul was traded to the Void. This granted immense power but came with a price: corruption.

The corrupted fought amongst themselves while searching for a cure. Many died completely, their souls fully consumed by the Void, which laughed from the shadows.

THE VOID

An incomprehensible entity that feeds on souls. Offers power in exchange for essence, corrupting everything it touches.

THE DIVINE BEING

A celestial entity who warned humanity about the Void. Provides guidance through ancient texts.

VOID-TAINED

Players who have traded too much of their soul. Glowing with void energy, they walk a fine line between power and oblivion.

III THE AWAKENING

Void-born forces awaken one by one. Guided by a prophet, players confront the Child of the Second Death, uncovering lore that leads to the Abyss Firstborn.

Its defeat plunges the entire world into endless night as nightmare mobs and corruption spread across the SMP. As time runs out and parasites invade, players face the Reaper from the Darkside.

Finally, they encounter the Void itself—an incomprehensible, near-unkillable entity tied to the corrupted Ender Dragon and the collapse of the Afterlife.

IV THE AFTERMATH

The Void is defeated, but its fall is suspicious—not by players' hands. This sets up Chapter 2, where void-tainted players, fallen souls, and banned players' accumulated rage manifests into a new being.

Abyss Reborn—meant to destroy the Void—instead becomes a greater threat against survival itself. Who has the power to change the story? Who killed the Void? Is there a greater threat lying unseen?

The corruption spreads, and the true enemy remains hidden in plain sight...

Stage 1: Ethereal (0-2 deaths) - Your soul arrives pure. Full 20 hearts. The Void's whispers are distant.

Stage 2: Altered (3-5 deaths) - Gain permanent Speed I. Max hearts reduced to 18.

Stage 3: Mutated (6-8 deaths) - Gain Strength I, Jump Boost I, but constant Hunger. Max hearts reduced to 16.

Stage 4: Corrupted (9 deaths) - Gain Strength I, Speed I, Hunger, but Mining Fatigue slows work. Max hearts reduced to 14.

Stage 5: Forsaken (10 deaths) - Ultimate power with Strength II, Resistance, Night Vision, but constant Hunger II and Slowness. Glowing makes you visible to all. Max hearts reduced to 12.

Stage 6: Void-Tained (11 deaths) - Permanent ban. Your soul is consumed by the Void forever.

Kill Bonus: Forsaken players gain +½ heart per player kill (max +3 hearts). This allows skilled Forsaken to reach up to 15 hearts through combat.

CUSTOM ENCHANTMENT SYSTEM

Over 60 unique enchantments across 5 categories, each carefully balanced for enjoyable gameplay. Enchantments have Weight (rarity 1-10), Max Levels (I-V), and some have incompatibilities with others.

REVAMPED DIMENSIONS

Overworld: Complete overhaul with custom terrain generation and structures. World border set to 10,000 blocks for concentrated exploration.

Nether: Transformed into a true hellscape with enhanced terrain. Blazes spawn naturally with increased damage. Custom structures with Netherite-armored Piglins that can use Golden Apples and pursue players with Elytra.

The End: Completely redesigned with new islands, structures, and challenges. The Ender Dragon has been enhanced for a true final battle.

Custom Structures: Ice Castles, Jungle/Swamp Villages, Enhanced Shipwrecks, and unique void-themed castles with challenging mobs and loot.

QUALITY OF LIFE

Fast Path: Walk 1.3x faster on dirt paths. Paths are actually useful now!

Sleep System: Only 5 players need to sleep to skip the night. No more waiting for everyone.

Dynamic Lights: Held torches and glow items actually emit light.

Graves: Items drop in a grave when you die. Break it to reclaim your items.

No WorldGuard: Bases can be griefed. This is a true survival experience. Protect your builds or hide them well.

TITLE SYSTEM

Earn titles through exploration, combat, and survival. Titles display next to your name and can be equipped with /titleset.

  • Corruption Lord: Kill 1000 mobs while corrupted (7+ deaths)
  • Forsaken Hunter: Kill 5 players while forsaken (10 deaths)

Survival Titles

  • Deathless: Survive 7 days without dying
  • Immortal: Survive 15 days without dying
  • Sword of the Afterlife: Survive 30 days without dying
  • Ethereal Being: Survive 60 days without dying
  • Void-Touched: Survive 3 days as Void-Tained

THE DIVINE MANDATES

NO HACKED CLIENTS

Any form of cheating, hacking, or using unauthorized modifications is strictly prohibited. This includes X-ray texture packs, fly hacks, speed hacks, or any client that provides an unfair advantage.

RESPECT ALL PLAYERS

Treat others with respect. No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or personal attacks. Swearing is allowed but keep it reasonable and not directed at individuals.

NO EXCESSIVE PVP

PvP is allowed, but don't make the server PvP-based. No spawn camping, repeated killing of the same player, or forcing PvP on unwilling participants. 1-2 kills is fine; targeting players repeatedly is not.

NO ADVERTISING

Do not advertise other servers, websites, or services in chat, signs, or builds. This includes Discord servers not related to AscensionSMP.

NO BEGGING

Do not beg for items, ranks, OP, or special treatment. Earn everything through gameplay. Feedback is welcome, but don't demand features.

SERVER SPECIFICS

NO WORLD GUARD

There is no land protection. Griefing is allowed. If you build something valuable, hide it well or defend it. This is a true survival experience.

NO TEAM PLUGINS

Team up vanilla-style. No team teleportation, shared homes, or team plugins. Form alliances organically through trust and cooperation.

REPORTING ISSUES

If you have problems, report to moderators in Discord. Do not ping the owner directly unless absolutely necessary. Moderators are fast tunnels for issues.

BAN APPEAL PROCESS

If you believe you were banned unfairly:

  1. Join the Discord server
  2. Message a moderator with your Minecraft username
  3. Explain what happened and why you think the ban was unfair
  4. Wait for a response (usually within 48 hours)
  5. If the appeal is accepted, you'll be unbanned with a warning
  6. Repeat offenses result in permanent bans

Note: Void-Tained players (11 deaths) cannot appeal their ban. Their souls have been consumed by the Void permanently.

Make sure you have Minecraft Java Edition version 1.21.1 or newer.

The server will launch when the countdown timer reaches zero. Check the home page for status.

A 15-year-old student from Bangladesh who built this entire server alone while managing studies and board exams. Tired of seeing Minecraft's potential wasted on generic SMPs, I created something with actual depth, lore, and consequences.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH MODERN SMPS

Most servers today follow the same tired formulas:

Lifesteal Clones

Just add a plugin, call it "Lifesteal SMP" - but they're never balanced like the original scripted servers. New players get farmed by veterans until they quit.

Economy Grindfests

Sit in an afk farm watching numbers go up. EconomyGUI shops that make exploration meaningless. Why find elytra in the End when you can buy it?

PvP Without Purpose

PvP servers that are just chaos. No lore, no reason to fight except to kill. Then they wonder why players get bored after a week.

Overprotection

WorldGuard everywhere. No griefing allowed. What's the point of survival if there's no risk? Minecraft becomes a building simulator with extra steps.

No donor perks. No VIP kits. Everyone starts equal. Your progress comes from skill and time invested, not your wallet.

No EconomyGUI. No shop plugins. If you want resources, gather them. If you want gear, craft it. Minecraft is about gameplay, not menu navigation.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Every datapack chosen for a reason. Every plugin configured manually. Custom Skript code written from scratch. Nothing is "just another plugin."

DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY

MARCH 2024
The idea was born. Tired of lifesteal clones and economy grindfests, I envisioned an SMP where death matters and exploration is the focus.
APRIL 2024
Learned Skript from scratch. Started coding the death system, testing every datapack combination, balancing each enchantment manually.
MAY 2024
Server development in full swing. Working through sleepless nights between board exams and depression. Built lore that actually matters.
JUNE 2024
Technical challenges: Aternos failed, VPS was hijacked, tunnel services caused issues. Almost gave up but players asked me to continue.
JULY 2024
Self-hosting setup. Bought domain, configured tunnel, optimized performance. Server ready after 600+ dollars and countless hours of work.
